Morrison Construction limited appointed Shetland Facilities Management (SFM) to provide a robust access control systems to cover a two-zone construction site for the new New Anderson High School main building, and halls of residence.

ievo Ltd was chosen as the biometric solution to help combat issues identified with Mifare/SMART cards, mitigating issues with lost, damaged, shared or stolen ID cards and reducing any vulnerabilities in access control.
SFM Security in collaboration with GTS Direct, outlined the solution as an integrated platform, combining the Paxton Net2 access control system with ievo biometric fingerprint readers to help keep an accurate record of the workforce operating in each of the two zones, by company and trade discipline; this included an accurate count of total persons on site, HSSE requirements, roll call reporting by zone, providing accurate time and attendance records and being able to capture data and metrics required for project schedules, board of directors, project controls.
SFM Security chose ievo as their biometric provider due to the ievo ultimate outperforming other products during initial tests and research, the fingerprint reader met all operational criteria areas; cost, readability, reliability, ease of integration and robustness.
